Guest guest Posted March 3, 2005 Report Share Posted March 3, 2005 British NGO to fund HIV treatment in Tamil Nadu: [india News]: Chennai, March 2 : The Tamil Nadu government Wednesday signed an agreement with an NGO from Britain that will fund the treatment of people infected with the AIDS virus. The Children's Investment Fund Foundation will provide Rs.80 million (around $2 million) to bring down mortality rates in affected families that have HIV positive patients, a state government statement said here. Around 1,000 people would get a multi-drug therapy from the fund and 4,000 more would be given better nutrition, the statement said. The programme would be run through the government medical colleges in Chennai and the districts of Salem and Tirunelveli. Foundation trustee Hohn met Chief Minister J.
