Guest guest
Bob, I exercise - primarily aquatics, but also bike and walk and Pilates. But the real stuff is my aquatics circuit. I have not had muscle loss at all; instead I have firmed up what I had and had some new muscle built. Just so you know, my aquatics is NOT swimming but involves so much leg work, hand work, balance work, etc. Physical therapy after surgery was so helpful and designed a program especially for me, and then I took an aquatics " class " , now I have moved on to my own workouts. I feel on top of the world after an hour. I just had my annual checkup by my Internist, and he pronounced me " fit " , plus all my tests, like for cholesteral and such, came back and all is perfect. I believe exercise has helped this. Many of my non-CMT friends/peers/(same age) are really falling apart - I have also lost several friends to heart attacks at a very young age. For me, exercise and a primarily vegan diet are a great combo. I exercise because I WANT TO! And it FEELS GOOD! My docs all support my exercise habits too.
