Guest guest
My daughter and I just got home from her first PT Evaluation. The physical Therapist and Physiatrist both recommended Orthotics for her. But my insurance is telling me that they will not pay for Othopedic appliances. This seems very wrong to me. Especially when it is a medical necessity for a small child diagnosed with MD. I am going to try to appeal it through the insurance company. Does anyone else have any recomedations or ideas in what we can. I will obviously pay for them out of pocket if I have to, but that seems so unfair. Especially considering how much my family pays for health insurance. Thanks, mandy
Guest guest
Mandy, My insurance did not pay for them either. But the MDA did. Contact your local MDA office and they will explain how it works. ann
Guest guest
Hi Mandy: You may want to find out if your insurance company will pay for your daughter's orthotics if you get a prescription from your doctor. I assume your Physiatrist is a Doctor? Regards,
