Guest guest
Gretchen, I'm an artist who currently does murals and faux finishes. I used to work in an " art factory " where we designed and produced art and painted furniture for the interior design industry. It was so much fun working there. I learned lots of tricks and new techniques. Your scrapbooks sound like fun! As for adhesives, have you tried 3M adhesive spray? I've used it many times, especially for doing my portfolio. It works very well, but can be toxic. However, I *always* use a respirator and take it outside to spray. There are other less tacky, repositionable sprays, as well. For burnishing, I use one of those burnishers from the press type days. Also, I've just discovered bondo spreaders. I use them for doing Venetian Plaster, but they'd make a terrific burnisher for larger areas. One side is flexible and the other is a harder plastic. They are very inexpensive. Also, have you tried those drop cloths from Lowe's or Home Depot with the plastic backing? They are very inexpensive and I think do a much better job of protection from spills than the more expensive canvas drops. They've saved me a lot of heartache and are reusable.
