Robin,

Wow. What a great gift. As for the New Balance shoes I have tried,

here's my list (women's models - I don't buy men's shoes - they will

slip at the heel - women's feet are different - wider at the

forefoot, slimmer at the heel):

600

730

752

753

754

810

852

I have loved them all, but my most recent pair were the 852 Cross

Trainers for women - these are outstanding for me and also have

enough space for orthotics.

New Balance has a new line, Aravon, which I haven't tried yet. I

recommend going shopping (in person) at a New Balance Store, trying

on different ones, get a feel for each and find out how you like the

ammenities. If I had to pick a type of shoe that works best for me,

I'd pick the Cross Trainer - for stability, rollbar and general

construction. has a good shoe for this too that I like.

Gretchen,

Thank you for posting your list. I will take it with me when I go shoe

shopping! I second the motion that you are the best!!! We all benefit from

your experience, resources and research.

Interesting, because I wear the mens because they come in black. The 952

style. My feet are very wide and I have no slipping at all. Something to

consider. I do agree with you, better to go to the store and try em on and see

which style feels most comfortable for Robin
