Guest guest
Lorna, I do bring CMT information with me. I am limited to my doctors because I live in a very rural area, the county I live in has about 6,000 residents. All major cities are at least 2 hours away. I have a medical assistance card as well as medicaid. The PA didn't mis-diagnose, just didn't follow through. I said pain, he thought nerve pain and neuroleptics have helped in the past I thought they may help again. I do not have my records, because I have never been treated " just " for CMT. Until recently I really just went to the doctor when my depression needed treated, pain became unbearable, or I was sick. I do sign a release and have my records sent. Why?? because really I haven't had much luck with doctors for CMT so I have avoided them. Either they wanted to do major tests or want to prescribe meds that haven't worked for me. To date I have had 4 EMG's and at least a dozen Thyroid tests... Many, Many doctors do not believe CMT causes such fatigue or pain that I have. Why would they, do a quick search in a search engine. Read 3 or 4 things about cmt and either it states there isn't pain and few if any say anything about fatigue. At least the current doc is sending me to a neurologist and I now have some alternatives... the replies for doctors who are CMT knowledgeable. Thanks everyone!! And I did stand up for myself with this doctor, I painly told her I wasn't depressed enough for it to be the cause of my problems for 12 years, so she referred me to a neuro. Thanks you for your reply. Jan
