Carl;

I thought I responded to you. Anyway my neurologist prescribed Provigil

(Modafinil) for my fatigue. It has helped considerably. I haven't had to take

a nap since starting it 4 weeks ago. No side effects that I can tell.

Provigil is a great drug, but is very expensive -- $7-$0 per 200 mg

pill. Cephalon, the only marketer, has given $130+ millions to the

generic drug makers not to make a generic version. If your health plan

covers the drug, you are lucky. Mine won't because it is off label for

CMT. I am taking Ritalin now, which has all the bad side effects of

any amphetamine. Now I understand why kids in my classroom hated the

drun and wouldn't take it. I also understand why it would help with

true ADD children.

I am taking a sleep test at the end of the month and plan to bribe the

technician to find obstructive sleep apnea, one of the holy trinity

that includes narcolepsy and shift-sleep disorder as on label reasons

to take Provigil.

Interesting that Ritalin is off label for fatigue but the bean

counters at Anthem BC/BS decided that off label at $.35/pill is OK,

but off label at $8.00 isn't.

AAAARRRGGGGHHHH!
