Has anyone ever tried making their own body powder/talc? I have

thought of making a body powder, but have no idea what goes into a

body powder, much less have much of an idea in making it. I have

heard of making powder out of rice, but again, I have NO idea how to

go about making powder, much less what goes into it. Any ideas?

TIA,

Anita B.

I don’t know the ingredients (think I may have heard arrowroot powder?) but

I can recommend you try Natrasorb Bath in your formula. It’s great for

encapsulating the fragrance so your product stays dry. You may even check

on the other Natrasorb product for a body powder. I think it may be for dry

body products more than the bath version?

Good luck,

Hi Anita - For body powder, consider using tapioca starch, kaolin clay, and/or

cornstarch and adding a bit of essential oil to your base.

I don't use talc. For my foot powder I use equal parts arrowroot, cornstarch

and kaolin clay. You could leave out the clay if you wanted for a body

powder, but it helps keep feet dry so that's why I use it.

You can also use straight corn starch, but the arrowroot gives it a nice

feel.

Hi

I have done it with white clay and cornflower and a little EO worked fine.

You could also try adding fine powdered herbs?

Hi Anita:

I make all of my body powder or after bath powder. You have to be careful

what you put into it, or it won't come out smooth. I have found that rice

flour or starch and any typeof grolund flowers will cause it to be slightly

scratchy. I use equal parts of cormstarch and arrowroot. Mix it and sift it

then take out a small amont and add a few drops or fragrance or essential

oil to the amount that you have taken out. Mix well then sift several times.

Then put this back into you powder mixture andsift and sift again. Now you

are ready to put itinto a container.
