proclaimed January as Think Neurology Now Month in Massachusetts and Boston.

To kick off January's events, the American Academy of Neurology joins with top

Boston-area neurologists, patient advocacy groups, local corporations,

government officials, patients and caregivers under the umbrella of neurology

for the first time.

When:

Representatives from the American Academy of Neurology and top area neurologists

are available for interviews Tuesday, January 11 and Wednesday, January 12 to

discuss the following:

b.. Advances in education and research

c.. The role the neurologist plays in ensuring the best possible care and

quality of life for patients

d.. The brain and brain science

e.. The state of healthcare in New England as it relates to treatment and

disorders

g.. The societal impact of neurological disorders

h.. The goals of this first effort in a public education

a.. An estimated one in six people in the United States will be affected by a

neurological disorder during their lifetime.
