Guest guest
Hi Gretchen, That is really weird because I had the same thing! I was told I had a murmur many years ago, which I thought was an irregular heartbeat. With later testing I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse and whenever I went to the dentist I would have to take high doses of antibiotics. More recently when I had pre-op exams they didn't detect it. do they disappear? things that make you go hmmm!!! Take Care, *** , don't know for sure, but my murmur isn't there anymore. This year went to a new dentist - on the new patient form is said " have you ever had Rhuematic Fever " - well I checked that. Now I have been going to a great dentist ever since I can remember, who knows all my medical history, and not once did he say I needed anti-biotics before teeth cleaning. But this new dentist said I did. I politely refused. Just had my teeth cleaned without the meds. I emailed a very good friend of mine immediately when I got home, since her spouse is a dentist, and was enlightened about RF and antibiotics at the dentist. For whatever it's worth, I don't plan on seeing the new dentist anymore; going back to my original dentist, whom is a better " match " for me. So I guess if we want to know about murmurs going away we need a cardiologist's input and that's way out of my league, lol. I figure if I pass my yearly physical with no problems, keep at the exercise and manage to stay out of the doctor's office then I must be a healthy, heart-beating-right person. ~ Gretchen
