Guest guest
I have 13 friends with CMT representing 13 families, that I keep in regular touch with. Out of these 13 friends, there are 28 offspring with CMT. 8 offspring in these families have CMT 1A. 4 offspring in these families have CMT Type 2. 3 offspring have CMT Type X. 4 offspring in these families have a CMT spontaneous mutation with no family history. The remaining offspring have not been tested to determine a type. What I have observed over the years is that the incidence rate of CMT is quite different than the 'proposed' 50/50 inheritance rate. Also, symptoms and onset age of CMT can be very different - even within the same family.
