Guest guest
Welcome . Thanks so much for introducing yourself. You said you have just been diagnosed with CMT 1A and HNPP. You might want to double check on that because they are genetic opposites of each other, CMT 1A is a chromosonal duplication, HNPP is a chromosonal deletion. I have essential tremor too. Yes, it is related to CMT - it is sometimes called Roussey - Levy CMT. Some research I have done on my own noted this type of CMT to be descendant of the first families known to have CMT 1B. Unfortunately I haven't found anything very current on this. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve & db=pubmed & dopt=Abstra\ ct & list_uids=10553995 You might want to use the AMA's Doctor Finder to locate neurologists in the Washington area. Hope you will find to be a good experience. Gretchen
