Trigger points and lower back pain

I have had lower back pain for three years or now due to repeat falls. I have

had 3 or 4 MRIs, a bone scan, months of pyhsical therapy, pain killers such as

Vicodin, Oxycontin, Tylenol 4 with Codeine, various muscle relaxers and

non-inflammatory drugs, and lots of rest.

MRIs and bone scan showed arthritis in my lower back and a slight spinal

stenosis, but the doctor was convinced it was muscle and ligament problems.

It would be so painful that I'd be in tears and couldn't sit, couldn't stand for

long, my legs would go numb, and it hurt to lie down in various positions.

Bottom line is, nothing worked....

For Christmas this year I was given a book called " The Trigger Point Therapy

Workbook " by Clair Davies.

Since reading this book and massaging out the trigger points for the lower

back my back pain has almost fully gone away. I'm trying to find a massage

therapist in our area that deals with trigger points, but haven't

been successful so far. I highly recommend seeing if you can get a copy of this

book. The book deals with pain throughout the body and has massage techniques

that can be self-applied. I know that for me it's been a lifesaver these last

few weeks and has allowed me to be pain killer-free and to do a lot of

activities that I haven't been able to do in ages.
