Guest guest
Heidi, My sister has a 6 yr old son and she has CMT I told her when he was younger to get him tested and she said he had to be a certain age she has yet to do it. But she puts him in all these sports things at school soccer,T-ball and I think they want him to play football. I think he has CMT he's clumsy and he runs funny playing all those sports could do more harm than good. My father was 58 when he found out so their was nothing he could do. My sister has a desk job and I used to do construction before I hurt my back which has to do with my CMT. I don't want the same thing to happen to him I've been disabled since I was 32 I'm 40 now but you can't tell your older sis what to do. Guest guest
I just have to throw this out there. My 2 children were very active in sports, playing instruments and cheerleading. When their symptoms started becoming obvious; that was when they were tested. Let them be kids and have fun while they can. Each person's obstacles will let them know when to be tested. A CMT parent alredy KNOWS what to look for in their child. Barb fl.
Guest guest
Hello Barb, I can understand where you are coming from, however it is each parents right to choose " when " their child will be tested. There is no set age limit. Thanks, Heidi
Guest guest
Of course it's a parents right to decide when to have their child tested no matter what the age.I'm 100% in a agreement with that. Barb
