Guest guest
Hi Candy, I am replying to your post about the Fentanyl patch portion! I don't know who your doctor is, but if he is telling you that this patch is non addictive I urge you to get a second opinion quickly! I and my daughter who both have CMT were on this patch, and both had serious addictive side effects and withdrawal symptoms when we decided to get off of them! Fentanyl is an opiate and is very addictive! It requires a slow, measured withdrawal if you have been on it for an extended period. Otherwise you will have hard withdrawal symptoms. I watched my daughter suffer this because she tried to just quite on her own right away. It is very effective for pain, I agree, but you really must measure this against it's habit forming properties. I know medications effect different people in different ways, and this is just my and my daughters experience. However, my neurologist, and primary care doctor both say that this patch is addictive and requires a slow withdrawal. Unfortunately, neither of them told us this till after we were on the patch and she tried to stop on her own!
