Guest guest
Hi I was diagnosed thru EMG about 1 1/2 yrs ago, sent to 2 neurologists, they said yes i have CMT,but it isn;t posing a problem. If & when it does, to go back. I had the EMG done because I have 2 herniated discs & a pinched nerve. My dilemma: all the procedure I have had for my back did not help at all - 3 epidural injections, facet joints injections, discogram, nucleoplasty. Now they are talking fusion for the back or maybe IDET proceure. I get severe leg cramps - always did - but now instead of being limited to just my calves they are, I feel, related to my back. When the back is bad the legs are terrible & vice versa. I have the high arches, just like my dad. My foot which has now progressed to feet hurt in the arches & my big toe is numb, dead & tight. I have jittery sensations in legs & feet - mostly when i try to sleep. I go to physical therapy 3 x a week for the back - it exhausts me. I have complained of fatigue for many years. I am not working now for 2 years because of the back. I am tired, worn out, very anxious & afraid maybe sometimes depressed. I try my best & am hanging in there. Any pain i tell the physical therapist about she writes off as it might be the CMT. the CMT docs - neurologists- say if it becomes a problem to come back - i might just have trouble when i am 70 walking on the beach, sand. I am now 43. Seems like no set of docs want to say what is from what, which leaves me confused as to my next course of action. The only med I am on is ibuprofen. did the bextra & celebrex, demerol, etc thing, went from 140 lbs to 115, then had the stomach biopsies & colonoscopy - all cked out ok. What will it take or who will it take to pull this whole thing together & get some definite answers?? I live in Phila. (very discouraged) I read all the posts & definitely can relate to most of them. thanks for any and all input you guys are wonderful
