Guest guest
Hi,I am so happy to find this group!! I am 41 years old, diagnosed with CMT at the age of 14. For the most part, my CMT didn't change at all until I had my second child. Since then, things have gotten worse, but I've had several foot surgeries with good results. I'll be having another hammertoe surgery in January because of a lot of toe pain. After reading all the posts on Vitamin C, I was so excited to try it, and hopeful that I wouldn't need the surgery. I'm really happy so many have had good results with the Vitamin C, but am wondering if there's anyone out there who isn't. I have been taking anywhere from 8000-20,000 mg a day now for 3-1/2 months.{I took the 20,000 for about 2 weeks because I had no idea how much to take.} I've since reduced it to 9-12,000 mg a day, since I've read how much most people have been having success with. Unfortunately, I have noticed nothing at all, in fact, I just continue to get worse. One doctor told me I should get AFOs a year ago, and I've been resisting it, but my balance is getting worse and my legs go numb when I walk. I've been taking Neurontin for 1-1/2 years, and that has almost totally relieved the nerve pain in my calves, which I'm extremely grateful for. I'm just wondering why the Vitamin C is not working for me...am I the only one?? Lori
