In doing some research on Osteoporosis and what I can do to combat it I'm finding A LOT of conflicting information on it, (surprise!) :-) The article you pulled states that a leading cause is lack of estrogen, but a great deal of other articles state it's more a lack of progesterone and not estrogen which explains why more women suffer from it than men do. I've read quite a few posts from people who have fallen and broken bones, (myself included), and if it's true that neuromuscular diseases can create even more bone loss due to inability to participate in weight bearing activities and basic inactivity, it's cause for worry for me already being diagnosed with Osteoporosis.
