1. Maximizing Resources to Meet Client Needs: Evaluation of a Comprehensive

HIV/AIDS Care and Support Model in India

In response to the need for comprehensive services, YRG CARE, a Chennai-based

NGO, instituted an integrated continuum of care and support services for PLHA

and their families. To examine the benefits and feasibility of service delivery,

the Horizons Program, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, and YRG CARE

undertook a multifaceted operations research study. This report describes

findings from an assessment of the current YRG CARE model, estimates the

economic impact of HIV/AIDS on clients and households receiving care and

treatment, and examines the sustainability of the YRG CARE model by analyzing

costs of providing services and its revenue-generating capacity.

2. Expanding Care and Support in South India: Scaling Up YRG CARE's

Patient-centered Approach

In this report, the authors examine the process of scaling up YRG CARE's

patient-centered approach and how this had led to the enhanced provision of care

and support services at four selected sites in South India.

3. Expanding the Care Continuum for HIV/AIDS: Bringing Carers into Focus

A review of existing literature on the role unpaid caregivers play in mitigating

the impacts of HIV/AIDS at the household level. This publication explores the

specific issues that cluster around the provision of " care " in the context of

the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. It applies the care economy lens to two key

sectors, health and social protection, and finds that while important strides

are being made, much more needs to be known and done to enable individuals,

families, and households to survive in a world shaken by AIDS.
