Guest guest
Hello and welcome, Sandeep – A professional diagnosis should be obtained from a neurologist, but since you are looking for us to share our experiences I thought I'd share my son's. He, too, was not walking independently at 18 months, which is when I took him to an Orthopedic. His verdict was that our son will walk when he's ready (i.e. he didn't see anything wrong with him). Sure enough, a month later he started to walk. When he was 8 years old, I suspected (in spite of doctors advising me otherwise) that something in his physical development was not up to par, and took him to UCLA for an evaluation by a Neurologist. He was diagnosed, along with my husband, to have CMT. He's now 24 years old, and although the CMT is definitely progressing, he's fully functional and is planning to attend Law School in September (that, of course, may change Blessings, Shula
Guest guest
NO not at all a sign of CMT! I have a nephew that didn't walk until he was over 18 months. He dosen't have CMT and walks over the place now. He is 17 years old
Guest guest
Sandeep, my daughter is now 4 and although she has not been tested for CMT I think she has many signs. She did not walk by herself until 15 months and although not the same as yours, still in opinion late for walking. All kids are different of course, my son was walking at 10 months and I still can't keep him down. Anyways I am sure will do it in his own time and I agree with Shula that a professional diagnosis would be best to make sure you know what is going on. Hope this helps
