Guest guest
, A few things come to mind for bones and bone strength. One, taking 2 Tums a day, which I did in my 30's and 40's. (Tums has calcium in it) Second, exercise helps bones and bone strength, which I have done some form of for years, and still do. I never took Vitamin D, but I try and get an hour of sun a day, less if it is just too cold, but that natural form has been good. As for reversing the damage, don't know, other than bunion surgery - which is probably in my future - but mine doesn't hurt, so that's on hold. Guest guest
I just received my medical reports from the radiologists who read my foot xray and he states that I have : 1. evidence of subtalar joint coalition 2. mild hallux valgus deformity 3. generalized demineralization Ok, I get the point about the hallux valgus deformity being a medical term for " bunion " , and I understand that demineralization leads to Osteopenia and Osteoporosis, but can anything be done about reversing that damage?? The medications I looked up for Osteoporosis seem to all be geared toward postmenopausal women, but is there anything, shy of just Calcium supplements, for younger women? I still haven't gotten a clear understanding of subtalar joint coalition. Can someone help me out here? Are there any alternative medications for additional bone density? I worry about side effects of a lot of the drugs on the market today and would prefer to do something else, but am at a loss here. I am also lactose intolerant to a degree and don't drink milk except on occassion and I know this hasn't helped. Thanks- ~
