As far as shoes to wear with plastic braces-my ex-husband bought a

really good pair of extra wide dress shoes many years ago. I think they

were EEE. You can get even bigger these days. As they get worn down

from the way he walks he takes them to the mall to the good shoe stores

and they repair them. After the one initial investment the cost has not

been that much as the repairs ranged from $15-25 (of course that was

several years ago) and the shoes come out looking brand new. New soles

and a good polish and he looked spiffy and brand new again. And no one

ever knew about those tube socks underneath! Actually his dress shoes

are what he wears more than anything else.
