Guest guest
Hi , I have been using a CPAP machine for about a year and a half. Many people on my dad's side of the family have this problem, even we women, in whom it's rare. Has something to do with the shape of the inside of our mouths. CMT comes from my mom's side. Anyway, I have always had sleep problems, and using the machine while at first, was a little disconcerting, I now feel that I cannot sleep without it. I sleep well and do not awaken all night. I'm refreshed in the morning and have less pain (related to chronic back problems from a childhood injury.) I do understand that there is an oral appliance, like a bit-guard one can wear at night in place of the machine, which I am interested in trying. Guest guest
I have no problem wearing the mask at all, but my problem is, even with the humidified air (My doctor prescribed the CPAP mask with humidity because I have Sjogrens syndrome and suffer from dry mucous membranes to begin with) on full blast, the CPAP is really drying out my nasal cavities. I've had several nosebleeds since starting it, and I've also had an increase in migraines (maybe from the pressure???) I really do sleep so well when I use it, with none of this nearly falling asleep driving home from work business anymore.....but I have GOT to find a way to decrease the nosebleeds and decrease the frequency of the migraines. Any tips, anyone? Wanda __________________________________________________
