Guest guest
I think you have my feet!! lol..Seriously now... About 5 years ago, before I knew about CMT, I did know I had a severe case of hammertoes, what I also heard was, there is a simple operation to correct this by cutting the nerve (or I guess it would be the tendon behind the toes themselves) to straighten them out. This method wasn't specifically for people with CMT and for what I can remember, it was more for cosmetic reasons, but I'm wondering if that wouldn't hurt? At least some of the pressure would be relieved I would think..This is only my opinion, it just sounds like it would help..Gretchen?? Thanks, **** yes, there are different surgergies for hammertoes. But this is not a " light fix it " type of job. ANY surgery to CMT feet should be carefully thought out, planned, and have several opinons. With some of the in-shoe orthotics, if they are made right, and support is given to the metarsal area, toes can straighten out a bit and pressure is relieved. I also recall some of the Vitamin C users reported toes straightening. ~ Gretchen
