Guest guest
Hi All, I just wanted to let you know that I had my second shot of Euflexxa (Hyaluronic Acid) and both shots barely hurt at all. They spray some freezing material on to numb the area. After that, it's a bit stiff for a few hours but not painful. There is no swelling or anything. As I mentioned before, my doc. said the Euflexxa has changed his practice as so many people find great pain relief. It may take up to 3 shots for relief. I'm very happy with the lack of pain. I'll let you know how long it lasts. Anne **************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Watch " Cooking with Tyler Florence " on AOL Food. Guest guest
Hi Jen, My doc is Dr. Jordan Metzl (212-606-1678) at HSS. He's a Sports Medicine physiatrist, but he treats everyone. You can see his profile on the HSS website. He raves about Euflexxa. The material says it can last for 3 plus months. The docs seem to think it's more like 6 mos. to a year. If you are thinking of HA injections, I definitely recommend Euflexxa. Anne **************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Watch " Cooking with Tyler Florence " on AOL Food. Guest guest
Jen, The instructions actually say to " reduce swelling " before using. You may need to take NSAIDs to reduce the swelling before using. Once you have the Euflexxa, it's supposed to reduce the chances of swelling recurring. But, I'd see what the Doc has to say about this. MA **************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Watch " Cooking with Tyler Florence " on AOL Food. Guest guest
Hi Ann and All! I just had my third and final shot of Euflexxa yesterday. As Ann stated it doesn't hurt...I don't even get the numbing spray. I was pleasantly surprised. It all depends on the experience of your physician though because I have heard other stories. It seems to be working well. However, because my left knee feels better, I am able to do more and my right ankle is QUITE unhappy about that I asked how long these injections work and he stated that he has not had anyone come back for a second round yet and he has been giving them for about 6 months (since insurance started OK'ing it). Will keep everyone up on the progress > > Hi All, > > I just wanted to let you know that I had my second shot of Euflexxa > (Hyaluronic Acid) and both shots barely > hurt at all. Guest guest
Hello anne, You've been a great help. I checked out the Euflexxa site it says its for OA. I dont know if there is a difference between OA and Chondo. What is your DX? Has your doc shared any info with you regarding Condromalacia and OA? Sorry dont mean to be asking all these questions, but I sure appreciate the help, advice and info. Hope your having a new day Jen Re: Re: Euflexxa Jen, The instructions actually say to " reduce swelling " before using. You may need to take NSAIDs to reduce the swelling before using. Guest guest
, I would try calling the Euflexxa manufacturer for a doc's name or ask them to send you info. on it. My surgeons at Hosp. For Special Surgery only uses Euflexxa (He won't use Synvisc for a variety of reasons, including negative side effects.) I am 4 months past my Euflexxa injections and doing great ( walking over 4 miles a day and regular exercise routine). Anne **************Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Guest guest
I went to see the ortho today to ask about Euflexxa. He didn't have any comment (something tells me he hadn't even heard of it) and he suggested I try the Synvisc. I've heard different things about this. Anyone got any updated opinions. He didn't give me much hope that it would work, but he said he would try it if I decided to.
