Guest guest
Carl, Because about 70% of CMT is Type 1A, possible treatments most likely will start on 1A. The pre-natal test started there, so did the DNA test and research on pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (for CMT-free children). But have hope, many of the subtypes of 2 are in research as I write. If you have time, go to messages from April 04 and read forward to see how Vitamin C in larger doses has helped many and read what others experience has been. Remember, MICE were used in that Vitamin C study - the first human trials get underway soon. Re: Fatigue - yes, fatigue is a common complaint. This is because it CMT muscles have to work twice as hard to do half the work of a non-CMT affected person. Some people take medications for fatigue. A nap is probably the most natural way to " take a break " and let the body re- charge. If you are feeling tired when you wake up in the morning, 2 things come to mind: try going to sleep 1 hour earlier at night for a month; if you still feel tired in the morning, maybe consider having a sleep study done. Yes, I'm active. No, I do not wear AFOs. Gretchen
