Jay,

The following study was done 10 years after the one you posted and it includes

CMT. But it refers to " muscle dystrophies like these " and CMT is NOT a muscular

dystrophy!

From Biochim Biophys Acta. 1995 May 24;1271(1):281-6

Two successful double-blind trials with coenzyme Q10 (vitamin Q10) on muscular

dystrophies and neurogenic atrophies.

This next one, from 2003, also mentions CMT and the use of other antioxidants

besides coenzyme Q10, Vitamin E, and Alpha Lipoic Acid.

J Investig Med. 2003 Sep;51(5):261-83.

Molecular mechanisms, diagnosis, and rational approaches to management of and

therapy for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and related peripheral neuropathies.

There's something else more current, on Coenzyme Q10 and ALA, I just have to

find it. I have been taking 1000 IU of Vit. E for 8 years now and I believe it

helps me - especially in getting red blood cells to muscles and also helping

skeletal muscle in general. (I know, I know, all the recent hype on Vitamin E -

yes, I continue to take it. I benefit from it. That is my personal experience. I

did not just start taking Vit. E on my own. It was recommended to me by my

Internist and I agreed to give it a shot.)
