Guest guest
, I participate in a Bone Builder's program for osteoporosis, lifting only 1-2 lb. on a Thursday. On Friday a.m. I bowl with a Seniors League. Believe you me, it overworks my muscles; however, my bowling average has managed to stay the same. Yes, it does take a day or two to recover. So what does one do if one enjoys bowling and should do the weight-lifting? Lots of frustrations/decisions/quandaries for us CMTers. P. **** , I wonder if your Thursday and Friday schedule is too much. Although I realize the times of these activities may not be flexible. I always take a day off in between ANY exercise I do. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
- YES! Often I feel the effects when I overdo it. The good news is that in a couple days of being careful it does go away! It is hard sometimes to remember to do things in moderation especially when you are feeling really good and want to do all the things you used to do. I also recommend New Balance shoes. Guest guest
Thanks for the Vit C tip Robin. I'm only taking 4,000 mg a day. My dr (neuro) said it wouldn't help. And since my CMT is fairly mild, I didn't up it too much, but maybe I will try that to help recover from the muscle overworking. My legs & feet are a bit better today. Trying to rest and get plenty of sleep. It's hard with 4 kids at home still. I'm thinking I will pay for that little " mistake " for about a week, with hopefully no after effects. I know what you mean about the zoo Elaine. I don't do the zoo, the mall, the flea market, and sometimes Wal-Mart even seems to much. I try to avoid that much walking all at once. My daughter's paper route is usually pushing it when we take our time, but we've been driving a lot this winter, so I guess I'm more out of shape than I was before. I'm thankful I can still walk and I try to remember pain makes me feel human. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
