Guest guest
I was the first in my family to have CMT. I passed it on to both my children. One female the other male. I now have a 6 month old grandson and we have no idea if he has inherited CMT. I always had trouble hearing and my late son was profoundly deaf. My grandson has a moderate loss and he already wears hearing aids. I too just recentrly tested negative for CMT (DNA). But my guess is I have type 2. My sister is AOK and so are her 5 children and 7 grandkids with more on the way. All my cousins; both sides are AOK as are their kids. Luck of the unlucky draw I call it. Barb Fl. Guest guest
Gretchen, Curious, What were you told of the chances of carrying this on since you are the only one in the family. I hear such conflicting answers. I too am the only one in my family and thank goodness, have not seen signs in my son yet. I am still waiting to have the genetic blood testing done again, as I tested negative for CMT 2 years ago. Jackie
