CMT is NOT an immune system disorder

To all regarding IVG treatments: IVG is for immune-related

neuropathies. Like AIDP, CIDP, etc. CMT is NOT an immune system

disorder and if your doctors don't know this - speak up! Don't waste

time, money and your health believing that IVG will help CMT. If a

doctor suggests this treatment, ask WHY. If the doctor says because

maybe it will help, educate him/her that it will not.

Ask your doctor to review your EMG/NCV tests with you. These will

give you (and your doctor) a clearer picture of your CMT. Especially

Types 1 and 2. And ask questions!

CMT is the most common inherited neuromuscular syndrome - CMT is NOT

an immune system disorder like MS or CIDP and treatments for those

disorders will not help CMT. Please be aware.
