Guest guest
Today I visited my hair stylist for my bi-yearly cut and shape up. We got to talking about hair and all and she mentioned in these last 2 years it seems my hair has " regained " it's natural curl. (these are in ringlets form). I had a brainstorm and since I have done nothing these last 2 years that would be any different to cause this, I questioned if undergoing major surgery 2 years ago would have caused this. Well, to my surprise, she said " YES " ! She said that anesthesia does so many things to us that we don't realize. She is a fully licensed beautician and cosemetologist and explained some of how chemicals in the brain are literally " jump started " after anesthesia. I was born with no hair (lol), by the time I was 2 I had tons of curls. In my teens, I used orange juice cans to set my hair on - to smooth it out and used scotch tape to hold my wet bangs in place so I'd look cool (it was the 60's) The years that followed were filled with hours of blow drying my hair smoothe, and maybe rollers for smooth waves. I hated those curls and the frizz. Then something happened in my 40's - my hair went straight by itself and I used hot rollers for curls. Now where I live is very hot in the summer, and from the time I leave the gym with wet hair and get home (a 5 minute drive) - the ringlets start to dry. This year I am just going with 'the look' LOL It seems amazing to me that anesthesia from back surgery in 2002 brought back the ringlet curls. Has anyone else had any sort of similiar positive experience after undergoing anesthesia? Gretchen
