Guest guest
Mandy, During my struggles with the herniated disc and muscle cramps, I took Robaxin (generic as Methocarabamal). It was very effective and helped me to be more comfortable. On a day to day basis, I do not take any muscle relaxants now, hooray. My muscles feel so good after an hour of aquatics in a 92 degree pool Ah relaxation! Yes, don't put yourself through another EMG/NCV for this. I've had CMT for about 40 years or so, and only had 1 of these in my adult years. (1 1/2 as a teen) Some with CMT have shared in the past about drinking a glass of Tonic water - it has quinine in it, which supposedly stops muscle cramps. Or you can get a prescription for quinine if it is available, but the Tonic water just might do the trick. I am in the process of pruning my roses and cutting back all the brush in my yard. Right now I have only about an hour or two a day to get this done. The other night I felt muscle aches - a natural result. So I took 4 Alleve before bed and used Arnica Gel on my right arm (the aching was worse). In the morning I felt just fine and no aches. Alleve is over-the-counter Naprosyn. I also have a standing order at the pharmacy for prescription strength Naprosyn if I ever need it. Works very well for me. Three other things that work for muscle cramps for me are 1) a hot bath and 2) a good night's sleep and 3) an nap for extra sleep if needed.
