Guest guest
Welcome Jan and daughter, Thanks for introducing yourself Jan. Are you connected with MDA or Shriner's for services for your daughter? Is she in a physical therapy program of any kind? If not, you might look into theraputic horsebackriding and aquatic therapy. These have good results. Here's a link on the riding therapy for info http://www.cadenceriding.com/ArenaTherapeutic.html and here's a link to some general info on aquatic therapy http://www.showmeaquatics.org/ I had some theraputic riding when I was younger, and in my teens then rode horseback as often as I could. I still love horses and live in horse and wine country, just not many opportunities to ride. For the past several years have been hooked on aquatics and really love it. Have seen muscle actually increase - and I am 52! Now mixing in Pilates breathing and meditation into aquatics, I turn off the overhead lights and workout in the dark with just the inside pool lights on. Very peaceful, also energizes me. But I started all this first in regular, strict physical therapy. Again, welcome and let us know if we can help in any way. Gretchen
