Guest guest
, I am curious what kind of surgery you had. I am scheduled (Feb 7th) to have major surgery--ankle fusion and " releasing " the Achilles' Tendon on my right foot. I declined surgery 3 years ago, opting for braces instead, which helped, but my feet continued to deteriorate. The surgeon and rehab staff at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City are optimistic that I will get significant benefit from this procedure. The braces allowed me to continue hunting with the aid of a walking stick, but now I hunt waterfowl from a blind vs. walking rough terrain for pheasants and quail. My right foot, soon to followed by my left I'm sure, is seriously impaired--at this point I can barely walk barefooted and have very poor balance. I use a cane around the house and wear my braces plus the cane when I go to work or go out. I am 58 years old and enjoy a rich rewarding life. Men tend to live long in my family and my health is excellent--thank God. So...I ramble on...anyway, , if you could share some additional info about your surgery, I would be most grateful.
