Guest guest
IME - my feet! lol if your calluses are really bad you have to use a pumice stone... it takes time and then keep good maintenance on your feet... are you looking for a recipe or a method? If it's for yourself it is prolly worht the cost of a professional pedicure... then keep them up... Guest guest
When I do pedicures at work I will only use drywall screen, the stuff you get at the hardware store in medium grade that they use for sanding drywall. It will take all callus' off and leave your heels nice and smooth, much better than pumice. Oh and it works amazingly on toilets also...removes all stains and hard mineral build up super fast without scratching like pumice does...HTH's...Heidi " Ms. Boyd " <skysthelimitii@...> wrote: What is a good exfoliator for heels, soles and toes. Guest guest
I use a wet pumice stone. Works best for me ;o) Sherry http://www.AuntHelens.com > What is a good exfoliator for heels, soles and toes. Guest guest
cool Heidi - thanks for sharing. I may have to try that...dry wall screen. I have used pumice on the toilets out here but ahven't had any problems scratching the commode - in fact I often wished it would work a little faster - maybe that screening will. I don't know about my feet tho - I have diabetes and staph issues. Thanks again, Willow --- Mibmama <mibmama@...> wrote: > When I do pedicures at work I will only use drywall > screen, the stuff you get at the hardware store in > medium grade that they use for sanding drywall. Guest guest
If you have hard callouses on yoru feet try alpha hydroxy cream. I got some that was too strong for my face and it worked great to soften my feet so I could take off the calloused skin with my fingers. I have done this for friends as well a pumise stone works well for the maintenance but if there gets to be a build up a med grade sanding block works wonders and like sanding wood you can feel the difference and the block forms to the foot or toes
Guest guest
One of the best foot exfoliators is actually table salt. A good scrub recipe is 1 part salt to 1/2 part oil to 1/2 part shower gel of some sort. The shower gel allows it to rinse away without that extreme greasy feel. Scrub with a pumice or foot file and your feet will feel nice and smooth, then lather on a good moisturizer like shea butter. If you do it daily/nightly for like a week or so, you will see a big difference. Dennis <mn_demonn@...> wrote: > > What is a good exfoliator for heels, soles and toes. I need a good > callus remover. Hi Pamela, Bloating of the tummy often occurs after drinking Kombucha as a strong detox reaction. Did your sister drink water while she had the KT? Generally speaking, any fermented, probiotic food/drink can cause reactions in the gut, usually wind and bloating with accompanying tunes ;-0 Sauerkraut comes to mind, amother probiotic fermented food which is called the broom of the gut. ;0) You can imagine the rest ;-) This happens, because our diet usually is lacking the enzymes and/or roughage/fibre and plain water that makes the gut work well. When your sister returns and still gives Kombucha her confidence, she should drink only very small amounts of KT (2 oz maybe) 2 or 3 times daily and at least 4 oz of water every time closely with it and as the days go by very gradually increase the amount of KT she drinks. Flatulance which rather feels like 'fatulance' is normally nothing to worry about, although it is annoying at the time .... Guest guest
Could the stronger KT have begun a cleansing action that was not able to finish because of an impacted colon? I'm not giving any advice, but I know if that happened to me, the first thing I'd do is get a colon hydrotherapy treatment to get everything out. Again..this is not advice, and may not be the right thing for your sister. What foods did she eat at that time? Any leads there? I just see more and more people starting cleanses for various things without first making sure the colon is cleaned out and in good working order. If long held toxins start moving out of wherever they have been stored, they need to exit the body as fast as possible. Even if it's food poisoning, same thing. I'm curious to know what are the doctors doing with her? Hospitals used to have colon hydrotherapy units, but decided it took too long and was not cost effective (even though using pure water is so safe). Now they use drugs instead. Maybe there are other aspects to consider as well, and hospitals have all kinds of diagnostic equipment. Guest guest
Hi Pamela, While anything is possible, chances are the KT had nothing to do with your sisters problems. I certainly hope not! The only thing that would cause problems would be mold and mold is visible. If it was too acidic like vinegar, she probably wouldn't have had much of it to drink. I have personally kept Kombucha refrigerated, sealed in a bottle for over three years. It tasted like fine Champagne when we finally opened the bottle and it had fine carbonation like Champagne as well. I have kept many more bottles for a year or more with no problems whatsoever. Hope things go well for your sister and that she feels better soon. Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev > > My sister is at the hospital right now undergoing tests for unusual > abdominal fluid with a severely bloated belly. Guest guest
Thank you for your replies. My sister has had an ultrasound, CAT scan, and colonoscopy as well as various blood work. All the tests are proving her to be normal and healthy. No clue as to why she has this excessive fluid accumulation in her abdominal cavity. From what I'm hearing from you all there doesn't seem to be any reason to suspect the KT as a factor. She didn't have much and said she did dilute it with water. Tomorrow they intend to aspirate the fluid and try and get some answers that way. Thank you again for your insights. Pamela

Guest guest
I just read today in a book on kombucha that older, stronger Kombucha that is kept in the fridge, and not covered but actually capped, can develop into acetone. It sad that if your kombucha smelled a bit like nail polish remover, don't drink it. That it can cause kidney damage and etc. I wonder if this is true? Does anyone on the forum know? Guest guest
It sounds like ascites. If the liver is damaged, the fluids build up in the abdomen. This happened to my MIL at the age of 78. She had been in a bad car accident 30 years prior, and had received blood transfusions. She had contracted Hep C, which apparently was sort of dormant, but produced some damage that resulted in scarring of her liver--- cirrohsis. She was NOT a drinker! I hope that is not the case with your sister. Jill...<><

Guest guest
The acetone thing is quite common in vinegar making, it isn't acetone though, it's an aldehyde, it happens when the fermentation is incomplete, probably because it's not getting enough O2, in vinegar at least, but acetobacter is part of the brew isn't it? I've only had it with some red wine that I didn't dilute enough, once I added more water and started doing the proper maths it stopped.
