Guest guest Posted January 26, 2012 Report Share Posted January 26, 2012 The thing is they don't bother me that much except at night, but II have to wash everything everyday and still can't get rid of them and in the morning my bedstuff is infested although I don't see anything just feel their presence. I can get the doxi but was wondering if I might do better with Ivermectin. I did see Dr. Cameron and he ordered Doxy 300 for me for a month based mainly on the 1xband 41 and 23, but he didn't know about mite infestations per say which is what I think I have. I'm always afraid to take meds because of side effects so just trying to do the best thing with the least problems. I've had my place sprayed twice in the last two months with Onslaught and Nyguard and have been using the coconut spray in the bathroom. Would really like to be done with this. Only thing is I'm still spraying every 4 weeks with adulticide and Igr, so only use the coconutnoil where there isn't any pesticide as there is a bad reaction between the two. Read, the smell of coconut is relaxing. I guess you don't use a sheet but my comforter gets infested bad too, but I guess the mattress is one less thing to worry about. Are you able to dry it thoroughly before putting it out again? I am going to have to sort the rest of them outside in northeast weather. I really always knew they hadn't died. Refrigerator freezers aren't all that cold anyway. How do you people keep your papers uninfected? The freezer never worked for me either. Snow fleas is another word for springtails. But I fought a visibe springtail infestation for almost 3 years. For me not being able to give up my farm I just did with less and pitched most clothes and books. Thank goodness for the net and research most book info can be googled. I still think they are cheyletiella mites I was infested with from when my daughter adopted kittens with fleas. I think they came over to my apartment on me and then I hosted them as after my daughter took care of the fleas she was o.k. She can't deal with the fact they might have the mites but are asymptomatic so even though I watch my granddaughter several times a week I'll have to treat this like an allergy and try not to set foot in her house while I'm battling these things, although she is insulted. Better insulted than to have this infestation. I've never been able to get an I.d. Although several ties I did see a 4 inch swarm of tiny black dots for a minute or two. When I moved I threw out everything, including my computer and grandson's microscope. I thought I saw what looked like a mite which I crushed and then was bloody and a cocoon but could never find an entomologist who found other than debri. And what's really bothering me right now are those mites, I do feel them around. A whole lot were in my papers in the freezer, landed up throwing out most, even what I needed. Second question, can you put papers in microwave, have one here but never used one. I still treat my rooms weekly for my health. He said, " Jan, there are many bird diseases. I'll order a Lymes test with the rest of your regular blood work. " I tested negative. But I know I have whatever this is, for sure. If you have Lymes, find the pics on the web. You get a huge target-shaped reddened area on your skin.
