Guest guest
I've tried to lyme dip my cat and it didn't work. Keep in mind, you need to dip them once a week for three or four weeks for the total treatment. And each time the pet is reintroduced into the environment. I found that it only made the mites angrier. They bit me even more when I tried lyme. Plus it made my cat very sick. I would look for another solution. Regarding heat treatment. I read on here once of a lady who did this herself and heated her home to 180 degrees for two hours, three weekends in a row and it worked. I paid $1500 to heat my one bedroom apartment to 165-170 degrees for 6 hours, one time. It helped, but it didn't get rid of the mites completely. I would like to try it again, because it did help. But I would probably try to find someone who would give me a deal to do the treatment 3 weeks in a row. This way you get the mites on each life cycle. it seems to me that the problem lies completely in clothes and fabric. So am looking to treat my clothes as if I had chiggers and bag up clothes, air tight with moth balls, and then cycle out one bag each week, leaving most bags closed for 4 weeks at a time. Windex and a good air filter with an ionizer also seem to have worked well for me. And by all means, get rid of your carpets or move to a place that doesn't have them. Good luck. > > > > > > > > > > Most of us who get birdmites do get Lyme Disease unfortunately. At least you will get some treatment Linds. I may of never known without them. >
Guest guest
Did they use an electric heater or propane? I live in an apartment building so they can't use propane, which gets hotter than electric. Bedbugs die at a lower temp. than mites. Exterminators wouldn't take me on because they said they couldn't guarantee a treatment because they couldn't see the mites and then they didn't want to do it anyway because they didn't treat for mites. This was my experience in N.Y.C. and for a one bedroom they wanted $3,000 for the one treatment. I've had a lot of trouble with exterminators here if they can't see the mite either they won't treat orbtreat wrong. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Most of us who get birdmites do get Lyme Disease unfortunately.
