Needs assessment of the health care providers and their clients in Rajasthan

Dear forum,

I am a 4th year college student from Vanderbilt University in Nashville,

Tennessee. During June and July, I will traveling to Rajasthan to assist in

development of education materials for health care providers and clients from

the asia pacific region on HIV/AIDS clinical issues (stages of HIV, Ois),

nutrition, HIV therapies including ARV therapy, adherence etc. I will be working

with an organization called Seva Mandir and will be collaborating with SAATHII.

I am trying to understand the needs of the health care providers and the clients

Rajasthan. I would appreciate if you can take a minute to answer the following

questions. I am looking specifically for guidance and advise from positive

networks and positive individuals with regard to the needs of positive

individuals in Rajasthan and surrounding states.

I would appreciate it if you can meet with me in Rajasthan during my stay. If

If you have contacts for nutritionists or translator who can help with the

development of these materials, please do send me their contact information as

well.

· State, and city of your work

· Nature of your work

· What is the literacy level of HIV positive patients you serve

· What is preferred mode of educating your clients on HIV disease management,

nutrition, and HIV treatment including ARV therapy, nutrition among other

issues?

· What education methods do you use to educate patients with low literacy (or no

literacy) levels

· Is there a place for development of videos for educating the patients on these

issues?

· What kind of education materials you need for various health care providers

(other than doctors) in your country on HIV/AIDS clinical issues (stages of HIV,

Ois), nutrition, HIV therapies including ARV therapy, adherence etc

The ultimate goal of this questionaire is just to have some idea of the audience

we will be targeting with the educational materials that we develop. This is

not a study for publishing and your information will be kept confedential.
