Guest guest
Hi Elissa! So glad you have a nice understanding doctor for your son. Moving and bringing nothing really helped us (even if I have understood many here has gotten better without moving as well) so I hope it will be the same for you! Great that your preganancey is going well. Take care!Cecilia From: lissarachel <elissarachel@...>bird mites Sent: Wednesday, February 15, 2012 3:10 AMSubject: Follow up Hi All,I haven't posted for a while...I read through most posts and am glad to hear things have improved for some :)I have realized now it does get better. Everyone else hang in there.Abx were what did it for me. I haven't had more than a few little pricks in a few weeks.I do herx midday and feel achy with headache most days, but I take it as a sign the meds are working. Most of my neuro stuff has gotten 90% better.Pregnancy is going well. 17 weeks now. that,.my 1 yr. Old and herxing leave me with no energy for email.I change the sheets 3-4 times a week still. Since mites stopped biting me, they now bite my son when he gets sick...which is pretty frequently these days. This was horrible for me. So I asked dr. jones for an earlier appt. He is a wonderful pediatrician and we're now just waiting on the results.Dr. J and his office staff knew all about mites biting humans. Hallelujah he made us feel sane (we know we are,.but never felt that way after telling a dr. about the mites.I still read 90% of the posts and reply when I feel okay. Finally we will be moving in may and decided to go with nothing! Hopefully with my son on abx, this will be the last of the mites!Elissa

Guest guest
Hi Linds, Doing well! 36 weeks now. Meds have worked really well for me. Son just had his 2nd appt. Diagnosed with sensory integration processing issues...symptom of lyme in toddlers sometimes. He is doing well. Starting OT soon. How are your little ones doing? Glad treatment is working for you! Guest guest
Glad to hear you are doing well. What is sensory integration processing? Did Dr. J diagnose that? If you don't mind me asking what kind of symptoms are there? I'm thinking my kids have sensory issues. He's not starting him on abx? Are you all set for baby? My kids are doing fine. I can't tell much of a diffrence yet. From: Elissa <elissarachel@...>bird mites Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 11:40 AMSubject: Re: Elissa Hi Linds, Doing well! 36 weeks now. Guest guest
The sensory stuff was actually diagnosed initially by my lyme literate psychologist. I talk about my son a bunch & his behaviors...then she met him one day he was home sick from daycare. She said lyme & co's manifest themselves in young kids with behaviors. I'm sure there is a more correct explanation, but my son seemed to have serious mood swings. In fact, it really was that he was over-stimulated by everything...light, loud noise, clothing & diapers touching his skin. He screams, cries, kicks, punches, etc...like he is in pain. He'd rather be naked. His wet hair against his neck bothers him, too. People singing happy bday to him made him cry & scream " no. " He seems difficult & temperamental but really it's for a reason. He prescribed abx this time. Do your kids have similar issues? What abx are they on? I was also clinically diagnosed with Bartonella today. Think he might have it, too. Guest guest
My kids both are picky eaters. They both have issues with textures. I try to get my son to try things by bribing him. He gags if its a certain kind of texture. For instance, he will gag on a noodle or a potato. My daughter just won't eat. My son does not want to wear jeans or anything like that. He would rather wear athletic pants or shorts. He can't wait to get his pajamas on. Your son sounds more severe though. My daughter is on Ceftin and my son has gone through Ceftin, Zithromax and now Flagyl. Have you joined the Lyme group? Its very helpful. Aa can tell you how to if you want to. How did you find a Lyme Literate Psychologist? I'm glad you have someone to help you. What is your son on? Did he get re-tested this time? I am very interested in your sons treatment protocol as he is around the same age as my daughter and I know you are seeing the more experienced Dr. I hope all is well with all of you. Take Care! Guest guest
Hi Linds, I am a member of the lyme group. It has been extremely helpful! My son's behaviors are severe. That is one reason I believe, even though he tested borderline, that something is brewing. Lyme & /or.Bartonella, etc... He will start amoxicillin for now to see if there is a change...we are starting slowly. Too soon to retest but likely at his next appt. in October. The doctor said there is a new accurate test but they need 4 viles of blood, which is too much from my little guy. The LL psychologist is very helpful. Her kids (teens) have lyme. She is in contact/friendly with top LLMD's & is extremely knowledgable about symptoms, treatments, etc... She helps me communicate my thoughts better...which otherwise is very difficult for me. Lyme brain? I searched on lymedisease.org & her name came up. I will be starting my son with Occupational therapy,.too. It will be early intervention for his sensory stuff. Glad all is better for your family E On Jun 20, 2012 8:52 AM, " Linds J " <lj_mom11@...> wrote: My kids both are picky eaters. They both have issues with textures.
