Guest guest
Hi ian How are you? Hope ur feelin better n.less alone in the world. I still miss my cat!:-( Yes interesting article but im not readin too much into it to be honest Too much hysteria already by pregnant women abandoning their cats who could keep them if they got someone else to change litter trays etc It upsets me how flippant people are regards a responsibility towards animals that are supposed to be loved. And if hygiene is followed why should anyone be infected by toxyplasmosis? I would imagine it to be a rare occurance, definately not a reason to stop having felines around anyway! ------------------------------ On Fri, Feb 10, 2012 03:19 PST tenchantre@... wrote: > >http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2012/03/how-your-cat-is-making-you-\ crazy/8873/
Guest guest
Sad girl, Agree. Ian not heard from you forever, how are you? Although I can think of a few people I would like to clean the kitty box so they would be under the spell of my cat:) My cat comes inside but has her claws and rarely uses the kitty box. Like sad girl I read a lot into it. Agree it is one more thing ignored by the CDC that is now rampant. However cats are not the only transmission. Having a indoor cat that is mature and not consuming wildlife is much less prone to infection. http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/toxoplasmosis/ Toxoplasmosis is considered to be a leading cause of death attributed to foodborne illness in the United States. More than 60 million men, women, and children in the U.S. carry the Toxoplasma parasite, but very few have symptoms because the immune system usually keeps the parasite from causing illness. Toxoplasmosis is considered one of the Neglected Parasitic Infections, a group of five parasitic diseases that have been targeted by CDC for public health action. http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/toxoplasmosis/epi.html http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/229969-overview > > > > >http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2012/03/how-your-cat-is-making-you-\ crazy/8873/ >
