have you considered some of the more exotic butters/oils for skin

softening/emoliency? emu oil, tamanu (foraha) oil, manketti oil, hemp

seed oil or butter, avocado oil or butter, mango oil or butter, kukui

nut oil or butter, macadamia nut oil or butter, cupuacu butter, mowrah

butter, and tucuma butter are all good choices for dry skin

formulations... olive oil or

butter is good as well, but you have to be more careful w/that one b/c

of the potential for adulterated oil... hth! :-)

hmmm Well I would stick with some shea... you could

add some avocado oil which is nutrient rich, and maybe

also add some kind of barrier to hold the moisture in

- I really like lanolin but another type of wax could

be used. ANother oil that sinks in well is macadamia

nut.

And evening primrose is also beneficial. Is this

really a body butter or is this for foot and elbow

type areas?

Do you exfoliate your skin before applying the butter? If you don't exfoliate

then the moisture can't get through the layers of dead skin. I love shea for

everything! Maybe add some rose hip seed oil, avocado oil, sweet almond, or

jojoba.

Thank you for all of the helpful information..

I do exfoliate, and that may be the problem...I do it almost

everyday, hence the dry skin.. I just loveeee to use salt/sugar

scrubs!

I will try some more exotic oils next time around! Thanks again!
