Deb,

According to what I've read, the answer is yes.

Mrs. D.,

Lanolin is a natural emulsifier which absorbs and holds water to the skin.

This is why it was so great on sore nipples. It, of course, is from sheeps

wool and is great for moisturizing and softening of the skin. It is used in

soapmaking as well cometics but too much will make a sticky bar of soap. It

also contains a common skin contact allergin which may cause problems for

allergy prone individuals. I have used the remainder of mine for cuts and

scrapes, as well.

Hi Drae..Have you thought about doing a patch test on your arm to

see if the lanolin is going to be a big problem for you? You might

add just a very small amount to a bit of lotion or oil, then dab a

bit on your arm. If it breaks you out, I wouldn't even try to use it

in anything I made. It would be a good way to test it out before you

make a batch of something you plan to use on a daily basis.

Blessings,

Patty

I want to say Orange Peel Wax has some of the same similarities as Lanolin

and makes a good substitute. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong or where

ever I read it.

,

Petroleum jelly has a similar viscosity to lanolin...have you thought about

trying that in your batch?

Wool on my skin bothers me a lot, but lanolin doesn't seem to...
