Hi ALL,

I am new to soap making and for me to understand the oil and lye

calculation I created for myself a spreadsheet on excel to help me with

the ratio between Fat and Water. I would like to share this with you.

I have listed the formulas between 5% to 10% of Superfat. All you have

to do is enter the oz's of fat you want to use on the spreadsheet, the

spreadsheet will calculate all the figures between 5 to 10 % of

superfat. Also on the same spreadsheet is a calculation percentage

formula of each fat used in making the soap. Hope this helps,

Marie

Subject: Lye Calculators

Hi All,

Last Wed. I was out driving and picked this lady.

We got to talking about what we each do, and just my luck she was a

computer programer wiz.

Before she went back home, I had her make me up a lye calculator. (for a

fee) and ended up with two, since one single unit took up so much space

on the site.

www.soapmaking-soapsupplies.com/lye_calculator.html is the link to the

one for sodium hydroxide.

If anyone gets some free time check it out and put in some of your

recipes and see how close I am on the water. Most interested if anyone

does liquid soap, since I've never made any, intentionally that is. I

have a seperate one for calculating the potassium hydroxide.

I compared it to my recipes in Soapmaker and yours came out higher in

water although the same with Lye.
