Guest guest
Hi, I am wondering which emulsifyer works better in lotions - an emulsifying wax (containing Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60) or lecithin.
Guest guest
Hi, I have had many experiments with Emulsifiers and it is best to leave PolySorbate on the shelf. Emulsifying waxes are the cheapest and best option and can be classified as Natural (and that is a great selling point) Just use a cream formula using EM and up the water content. In Australia Europe and the U.S we all have access to the same ingredients but the companies that sell the stuff sell it by different names. This makes it hard to explain formulations as in a lot of instances you will not know what I am talking about. Maybe we should star some sort of file with these cross referenced. We use a all Natural product called Preservative NB, try find that in Europe or the U.S. It most likely exists under another name. By the way I am in Australia. > > Hi, > > I am wondering which emulsifyer works better in lotions - an > emulsifying wax (containing Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60) or > lecithin. >
Guest guest
Bonnie, What do you mean by handle? A Vitamix can certainly grind up flax seeds in a smoothie; the question is whether or not you want your smoothie to thicken up after 15 mins or so... Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, I depends on personal taste and what you are trying to accomplish by drinking your smoothie; i.e. is it for meal replacement purposes or a nutritional boost some other time? Victor Buytenko suggest drinking green smoothies with no additives, but for me that is not really practical--I use mine as a meal replacement and usually add flax or Super Seed by Garden of Life, Coconut Oil, Cod Liver Oil, plain raw yogurt, acerola (a source of natural versus synthetic Vit C.), Maca, a raw egg and anything else that might strike my fancy at that moment. In my opinion everything you mentioned is great to use everyday; the only thing I know of that should not be used every day are herbs--it is generally recommend with herbs to take them for 6 days and give your body one day off a week. (It makes them more effective.) I'm sure others in the group will have more to add!
