Guest guest
Huum...well it could be then that Dercum's Disease and Lyme, although similar may not be the same. I have had lipomas for years now and they have never gone away. Then again, I have never been treated for Lyme so who knows. Thanks for the information. Perhaps there is hope for me in that arena as well. Guest guest
Where do you have the lipomas? tender nodules under the skin are common with bartonella. I had a lot on my forearms, shins, and trunk area.AandrayaOn Apr 23, 2012, at 7:30 PM, mitesbegone <no_reply > wrote: Huum...well it could be then that Dercum's Disease and Lyme, although similar may not be the same. Guest guest
Oh, I have lipomas which started on my forearms also on the tops of my thighs, inside my thighs, some on my stomach, under my arm and many on my hips. I wonder if I could possibly have Bartonella. Which would mean I would have had it for a long time...but I am only now experiencing some of these issues, although I had sore feet for a very long time. That has never really resolved, just didn't seem as bad for a while, but now my feet hurt all the time. I wonder if the bird mites could have impaired my immune system enough to where I am having some kind of flare up?? None of my lipomas have ever gone away. Guest guest
Same here Terry, My employer also spent a fortune on different PCO's, fumigating all offices, where the infestation first started with a bird's nest on top of the roof. Did not make any difference for me. It was quite the opposite... I soon had the biters in my car, then in my home, I had just moved into... nightmare !!!! I am skeptical in general of PCO's. I spent a lot of money with them and it did absolutely nothing. But here's to hoping this is not the case for you! Thanks for the recommendation on the laundry additive. I agree about the carpet. My spray mix turns my carpet into my weapon, rather than happy habitat for critters :-) Kajay From: mitesbegone <no_reply >bird mites Sent: Wednesday, April 18, 2012 9:59 PMSubject: Re: Search past post Hi , thanks for replying. I am so happy my posts are getting through. I would reply directly from my email but nothing would happen. But I have it figured out now and am just happy to be connected finally. Fortunately, there was so much information on the site here that I had plenty of fact finding going on. Yes, I do have a rare disorder which is an autoimmune disease. Mostly the capillaries in my body are very fragile and they break easily which then causes my body to start attacking itself. Creates edema and painful lipomas (fatty tumors) under the skin. Lots of pain as a result. Most of my fellow sufferers have to take morphine for the pain but I have been able to stay away from that so far. But the mites are certainly testing my resolve. I actually live in Washington state. Wish it was Hawaii. But the Pest Control person I have been talking with is in Hawaii. He developed this product called Cedar Bug Free. 100% organic. He also developed other products. He told me that in 1998 they have had epidemics of bird mites in Hawaii. At first he said they were easy to see, but then over time they became harder and harder to see to where they are now almost invisible. And they burrow under your skin. He accidentally infested his truck, his home and his family by coming home without taking the proper precautions. He said it took him a year and a half before they were all gone, so he was determined to either find or develop a product which would be organic, easy on the skin and effective. He has been wonderful to talk to. I emailed him and we have had several conversations. It was just so refreshing to speak with someone who not only understood what it would take to get rid of these mites, but how you suffer while doing it. If anyone is interested in learning more I can provide his phone number or web site, etc. I have received most of my products. One of the interesting things he told me was that I should NOT tear up my carpet. He said that mites will burrow down into the fibers and will lay their eggs there. He developed a powder which can be pushed down into the carpet and then will be very effective at trapping and killing them. He even has video tapes on how to use his products. So, that gave me hope that I might be able to save my carpets and my sofa...and he had a laundry additive developed which he says kills the mites, without any effect on the clothing, and you can wash your clothes in cold water even. Hope that information helps if anyone is curious.Thanks...Terry > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > To search archives, post, type subject such as fels naptha in search right above messages,, or the author user name or email name. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Yep, I am beginning to wonder if maybe the earlier fumigations might have wiped out the mite and now I am dealing with their aftereffects. But since I have the products, I figure I might as well use them. I have a handyman starting tomorrow morning to help spread the powder into the carpets and to do a fogging. Just more money down the drain, but when the desperation sets in, sometimes you find yourself moving so fast ordering this and that, you don't really know if something took or not. I went to my house yesterday to show the handyman around and was there only for a short time before I started scratching. Now whether that is mites or something else...who knows. Guest guest
Typical mitesbegone. Do you own your place? If so, I would consider pulling carpets. We lived on cement floors downstairs for a year and I do not regret it. I used harsh ammonia and water on the cement and vacuumed them like any other floor. We moved a bed to upstairs (air bed) which is where we slept for 1-1/2 years. From: "mitesbegone" <no_reply >bird mites Sent: Wednesday, April 25, 2012 7:07:31 AMSubject: Re: Search past postYep, I am beginning to wonder if maybe the earlier fumigations might have wiped out the mite and now I am dealing with their aftereffects. Guest guest
Really? Is that because you were still fighting mites? or because you were fighting something else? I do not own the house. My best friend bought it when I moved here from California. I wanted to move here after I went onto disability and he wanted to invest in a rental property, so the two came together. I have talked to him about pulling up the carpet. He is not happy with that, but he understands if I have to do it. He has been encouraging me to get treatment as soon as possible to see if that will eliminate the problem. I sure hope so. It sounds like you had a real battle on your hands. I hate to think of pulling up the carpets and sleeping on an air mattress, but I will if it will help that's for sure.
