But, here goes: have been fighting bird mites for over 2 months now. Like Sharon, bless her heart, biggest problem is their torment of my body (in my mouth, nose, eyes, etc.). Every time I would finally allow myself to go to sleep, from sheer exhaustion, I would wake up and have to run to the bathroom and spend lots of time trying to cough up stuff from my throat. Usually looked like little black dots mixed in with throat secretions. Sometimes it felt like I had a hair in my throat or just something that was grabbing and would not dislodge. I would have to brush my teeth and gargle and brush and floss, well you get the idea. I was also constantly having to clear my throat and spitting. This process has been exhausting when coupled with the constant cleaning cleaning cleaning. I have tried everything. Had Fumigators out 3 times!! Still I am harassed. And that whole thing about skin tags and warts, yep...ME TOO. I even have these round flat like warts on the underside of my arms. I have a severely compromised immune system, am permanently disabled and this infestation has about leveled me. I have been staying the past 3 days in a hotel room just because I can't go home right now. And even after I got here, it took me two days to finally clear them from my throat and body. I have ordered new products from Cedar Bug Free and was going to attempt to work on the house (sort of back and forth so I could have a place to sleep without being attacked). I have a hazmat suit to wear while I am treating. Have to scrub powder into my carpets, powder the mattresses and then encase them with my new and oh so expensive mattress encasements. But my landlord called out Terminix to get another opinion. He was tired of hearing about me complain, but he is also a really nice guy and wants to help. He is even helping me pay for my trips to the hotel. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > So, met with the Terminix guy today at noon. He seemed very knowledgeable about bird mites. Said he used to have chickens and his wife had birds so they have dealt with them before. He totally understood everything I was telling him. BUT...he could not find any evidence. Something was either dirt or something else. Something I took off my body after a shower turned out to be little tiny threads (could this be Morgellons?). He searched high and low. Of course as I had been gone, their food source had been gone so I told him I did not expect to see any of them walking around. Plus it was the middle of the day and I suspected they were hiding. I gave him a specimen I had taken off my body a few weeks back and he said that he could see that it was some kind of critter but could not tell what kind. (He carried one of these portable microscopes). He said he found what might have been a shell casing in the sofa but again, it did not show what it belonged to. The underside of my sofa cushions had been treated with Borax so might have dried some of them up. So, bottom line, until he could identify exactly what the pest was, he could not and would not treat. Having had three treatments already he said that he had to be very careful about what they could recommend so as not to cause some kind of toxic overload. Of course this was logical and even ethical, but I am still faced with the prospect of going back home and trying to get proof. I ordered some of the ant traps (mentioned in an earlier email) so will try and trap some of them, otherwise, I am going to just have to use my body as a trap, and boy do I hate that thought. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am so miserable about this, but I haven't quite given up. But now, after reading the posts about Bartonella (the warts and skin tags) and Lyme and Morgellon, well, I guess I am thinking I may very well have these issues. I have been suffering from infections (bladder) and respiratory, but my doctor does the whole " oh, we don't have problems with Lyme disease in Washington state, and there is nothing wrong with you " ...even though she can see all the bites and rashes on me....Makes me want to pull my hair out, which seems to be falling out in any case. And my daughter is getting married in two months and I was going to help her with her wedding and now I barely have the strength to pick up the phone and call her. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Is there a test I should demand? Guest guest
Wow, what a great site. I had no idea about all the different soaps. I was wondering where to buy the lye soap and how to use it, and there you go answering my question before I have even asked it....This is great. Guest guest
Oh my!! I know that we have dermodex mites on us naturally. But if I understand you correctly, you are saying that for those of us who suffer from mite attacks on our face, they could be dermodex mites, not bird mites. I can certainly believe that my weakened immune system and the stress I have been under could lead to an " uprising " of the mites on my face...but would these same mites get into my throat all the time? And why do mites get into our throats? I mean, would that not appear like a suicidal thing to do given that mites are not supposed to be able to live inside us? Yes, I do question that?....I have often felt something on my lashes, but figured it was something floating down from the ceiling. I know I have bird mites, but I guess I could be suffering from both mites...Jeesh, what a lovely thought. But thanks for the link. It was interesting reading, if a bit creepy. I think I have blocked that knowledge for a while...LOL > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Well, as my posts have not necessarily been making it through (I should have figured this problem out eons ago), I don't know where to start. Guest guest
Fungus? What fungus? Are you talking about Bartonella? I have so much to learn!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Well, as my posts have not necessarily been making it through (I should have figured this problem out eons ago), I don't know where to start. Guest guest
Oh Gotcha! Guess it is the yin and the yang of life... Thanks for explaining to me > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Well, as my posts have not necessarily been making it through (I should have figured this problem out eons ago), I don't know where to start. Guest guest
Only 35% of people who get infected with Lyme get the bullseye rash. I never got one, wish I had.AaOn Apr 18, 2012, at 10:54 PM, mitesbegone <no_reply > wrote: You know Aandraya, When I lived in California, I thought I had been bit by a tick. But when I got to the doctor he said that since I did not have the "bulls-eye" I did not have Lyme disease and therefore, no test was run. After looking at the symptoms, I now believe I may have had Lyme disease for a very long time...and with the mite attack, perhaps now Bartonellas as well. You sound so convinced that I looked up Dr. Klinghardt and sent an email to his office asking for an appointment. His office is less than an hour away from where I live. This all seems kind of surreal. I mean, if it turns out that I have Lyme Disease, then the bird mite infestation might have been a good thing??? Is that weird thinking or what? Thanks for so much information on this. I will let you know how things progress. Guest guest
Yes, I wish I had as well. But if I have Lyme disease, it would have to be pretty advanced. Do you know how accurate a Lyme test is? And if I did test positive for Lyme, then that means I would have a greater susceptibility for a co-infection. Which means I would need to be tested for those as well. And depending on how that turned out: Living in a house with bird mites is definitely not in my best interest. If I have Lyme disease and then test positive say for Bartonella (if there is a way to test positive...I am just rambling here), then would I be further harming myself by being in an infested home? OR what if I should test negative for Bartonella? Then would I not be placing myself in harms way by living in an infested home? And then there is Morgellons? Does anyone know if there is a strong correlation between Morgellons and bird mites? Ahhhh...this could drive a person crazy. I need to get some sleep I think and quit pondering this. Thanks for listening to me today. Everyone was wonderful...truly. Many thanks, Terry > > > > > > > Well, as my posts have not necessarily been making it through (I > > > > should have figured this problem out eons ago), I don't know where > > > > to start. Guest guest
Dr. Burrascano's Lyme guidelines and checklists has a really good description of Bart symptoms last I remember. Marie posted a good list from Dr. Schaller, he was my first LLMD and knew I had Bart immediately.AandrayaOn Apr 18, 2012, at 9:20 PM, mitesbegone <no_reply > wrote: You're kidding me!!!! Guest guest
Terry-I don't know where it came from, the first thing Lyme does is turn off the immune system so you become suseptible to all kinds of pathogens. I still take 400mg a day of V-fend(voriconazole), a strong antifungal because I'm not done with treatment.Aandraya On Apr 22, 2012, at 9:12 PM, mitesbegone <no_reply > wrote: Aandraya, do you know where the fungi came from? Guest guest
All of the LLMDs I have looked up do not take insurance. I don't know how expensive they are, but I guess if that is my only route, then I will have to take it. Dr. Klinghardt's nurse sounded promising, but I suspect it will be a while before I can see him. I think I am going to start the doxy as a precaution to keep from getting any sicker. Then I guess I will wait to see if my doctor gets back to me, or if I can find an LLMD that will see me soon. Thanks....this is all so very scary.
