Hi all, I have been scurrying all over the place trying to buy products and get

some work done or else I would have been posting like mad. You guys are my

favorite " go to " friends these days.

First portion of my subject is heat treatment: I understand from reading about

mites that they are susceptible to extreme heat (around 135 degrees) and that

once this heat is reached and then maintained for several hours (like 7-8) the

mites, including their eggs, get wiped out dead!! Is anyone familiar with this

theory? Anyone tried it? OR know of anyone who has? I have sent off an email

with an inquiry to one company that is not too far from where I live to see what

they think about this. They do not have mites listed on their website, but then

again, many pest companies do not. I am going to pursue this. I do hear that

it is expensive. So...what isn't?

As to my second subject: I was wondering, do you think it is myth or reality

regarding a bird mites ability to live inside a human host? I mean I know they

get inside our mouths and noses, but really? to think first that they could lay

eggs inside of us, or live inside of us as adults, while feeding off of us...is

that extreme thinking? I must admit that since these critters simply love

nothing more than climbing in my mouth and nose, it would stand to reason that

they have some kind of a game plan. I know they can swarm baby birds and kill

them by infesting their lungs....Would love to hear any opinion on this....Even

if it is (gulp) believable.....

Thanks all, Terry
