Guest guest
I've decided to try to remove the mites From my home by bringing in baby chicks That come from a hatchery. They come Mite free because they don't ever come In contact with the mother. I got the first Four on Sunday. By today, Tuesday the Poor little things are scratching like crazy. So out they went and in came 3 more. I Know it's a horrible thing to do, but Chickens are supposed to have mites Not people. Now is the season to buy Young chicks from your local farm store. To try and keep them from biting me I Mix 10 different essential oils (about 10 Drops each) with a few ounces of thick Shampoo and 1 tbs of coconut oil. I Wet down in the shower, turn the water Off, then I lather my hair and body with it. I wait 10-12 minutes then wash off. The Essential oils are: peppermint, basil, Orange, lemon, geranium, eucalyptus, Tea tree, Rosemary, lavender, and clove. This seems to get them off of me, but the Others in the house find me by morning. I hope more and more find the chicks Instead of me. Also ozone works well for cars, But not so well in mobile homes, as it is too easy for them to hide in the walls. But I think it cut down on their numbers. I am also taking 500 mg of niacin (not Flush free that won't work), 850mg of Cinnamon bark and 400 mg of full Spectrum garlic cloves; every 6 hours. This seems to have reduced the biting I also almost elimanated sweets From my diet. Also I've been praying a lot. Jesus Always helps. God bless. I hope these ideas help some. Guest guest
Hi Dee, I have actually thought about bringing back a couple of my canaries so they will act as a magnet to the mites so I completely understand. You might buy yourself some Sevin dust. Just keep the chicks, and then dust them constantly. It won't hurt them at all. Then it kills all of the mites on them...then you just keep doing that over and over until finally you have no more mites. Then I would advise getting rid of the chicks so as to not draw any more to you. When I gave away my canaries, they went to a lady friend who already had canaries. As I anticipated, they infested all of her canaries, but NOT her house, even though her canaries were kept inside. She just kept dusting the canaries and dusting them until finally there were no more mites. By doing this, she killed the mites and protected the birds from having to constantly scratch and pick at themselves all the time. Just a thought....good luck, Terry > > I've decided to try to remove the mites > From my home by bringing in baby chicks > That come from a hatchery. Guest guest
Thanks Terry The woman who took my chickens when I gave them Up last fall is taking the young chicks also. I won't take A chance raising chickens again, not after this infestation. But I really think it's helping, I don't feel like they are Crawling on me every where I go. The house feels better, it's hard to describe, but I know it's better.
