Guest guest
Don't give up. Your little dog can still have a good long life. I got a little terrier. When she was 8 weeks old the vet told me she had a heart murmur. But she was doing okay so we just went with it, tried to make sure she stayed healthy. And then when she was two, she started having seizures and later on had pancreatic disease...but now, she is ten years old and she has to have a special diet and take medication every day but despite all of that, she is healthy and energetic and my very best friend. She goes everywhere with me and does everything with me. So even though it is devastating to hear these things, it is not necessarily the end of the world. And these little guys need our help to keep going. So hang in there. Guest guest
Hi Bill, that is awesome. So good to hear of a success story. I have considered doing exactly the same thing with heat. I guess you have to make sure you get the temperature really high otherwise you just have a bunch of them hatching. I will look into turbo heaters, but I have a two story house so it might take some work to get the temperature up. Thanks for posting the success though. Really helps to know it can be beat. Guest guest
Oh these little dogs do pull at the heart strings. And she is still with me. I don't know what or how I would survive if I had to deal with her loss at the same time as having mites. It is too horrible to think about, yet you endured all of that. I know it must have knocked you sideways. But now you have this little doggy whose soul lights up your own. And that is a beautiful thing. Perhaps between the two of you, you will be able to keep each other strong and in the fight. It is horrible feeling so desperate, not just for yourself, but for a little dog who is counting on you. But I know that my little girl would rather be with me, even if it meant suffering, then to be apart. I think God places love and support in our path. It is up to us to see that and to accept that, even though it may seem a burden. I think I moved to this hotel not because of my own suffering but because I could no longer stand the suffering of my little dog. Her little body has all kinds of black specks all over it....could dogs get this fungus? I know that her immune system is terribly weak. Her thyroid is out of balance. I was taking her for accupuncture to help strengthen her liver and pancreas. It was really working but I have not been able to take her back because of all of this at home. Stay strong and believe in yourself and your little dog. Bless you, Terry > >> > > >> > What if essential fatty acids DO prevent the formation of a mycoplasm, a living " crud, " on brain cells, thus eliminating a possible cause of " brain fog " and preserving brain function? > >> > > >> > > >> > Let's do what we always do here: we are constantly testing, all of us. Guest guest
I will call my vet in the morning and see what he thinks. I assume he will have to diagnose it first?? I sort of remember that dogs can get lyme disease but had no idea they got co-infections like Bart. Wow....thanks for the input. Guest guest
I do not use the monthly flea treatments. Are you talking about the monthly oil treatment you apply to their back? And I don't do dips. My dogs have not seemed to need that. But I have been giving them baths using an organic mange shampoo. And I don't have any treatment for them for parasites. I really feel tardy in all this. I can tell their ears bother them, mostly my little dog. She will shake her head back and forth. I scratch in her ears and try to help her. Sometimes I put an ointment in her ears or this dust which is made from DE. But I am definitely taking them to their vet for a check up regarding Lyme and Barts. Thanks for that. Guest guest
Oh...I am not ashamed to admit it. She is the best, the absolute best. She never leaves my side. Even now, late at night, she is curled up next to me. I have observed that my husky will often retreat to the outdoors when the mite infestation peaks, but my little girl never leaves my side no matter how miserable she might become. She just looks at me with her big sad brown eyes when she doesn't feel well. My heart just breaks. I have had her by me for these past ten years and we understand each other better than two people can. I only have to speak to her and she will cock her head and then do whatever I ask. Once I took a really bad fall and she ran to get my purse to bring my cell phone to me. After that I started training her to bring me whatever I pointed at. No matter how big it was, she would haul it over to me. Of late I have been in such pain, that she brings me my shoes and my socks and just sits down and wags her tail when she is done. She is my dearest friend. I guess that is silly, but she never has doubts about me. I used a product called Defendex. It is a homeopathic product and really did a good job of getting rid of mites and other things on her. Her skin was really sore, but I think the oils in the product really helped her out. I am so happy that at least she seems a bit healthier. She limps a bit on her front leg and is stiff too when she gets up in the morning. We make quite a pair limping along together. Both of us cranky old women LOL... You hang in there with your little dog. They are a blessing in these times and I know you are worried for your doggy, but you probably saved her from a horrible life. I think that dogs come into our lives for many reasons. And as much as we think we are rescuing them, they just turn around and rescue us right back. Same goes for kitties. They can be truly amazing and one look into those kitty eyes seems to have all the wisdom in the world. Best of luck to you dearie. I know you are in good hands...erh...paws... Guest guest
I just called my vet today to see if she could test my little dog for Bartonella. I read the symptoms and she has many of them. Poor little girl. She was so worn out today that she could barely go for her walk. I am very worried about her.
