Guest guest
Interesting... you're not alone. I went to an entomologist too and I brought him samples of what was attacking me. When I first turned in the stuff, the guy who received it said with certainty that it was going to come back as "debris" because he had lots of people bring debris to them. This was in New York City, so it was interesting to find out there were so many people bringing debris to an entomologist. Well, surprisingly, it didn't come back as just debris. The entomologist called it "an unidentified organism". But along with that organism he also found fibers and debris. I remember that during the beginning stages of the disease, I had some weird larvae-like stuff, and that could definitely not be debris, that's why it came back as unidentified. Honestly, I think the real organism that we're battling is an opportunistic entity that can pick up fibers OR mold to attack us (this is just my personal observation after almost 2 years with the disease.) So if you're in a wet environment, it's using the mold in your environment to attack you. When I left my mold-infested apartment I got rid of the mold spores but I was left with the fibers. It's the same thing, exhibits the exact same behavior, but it is in the form of fibers now. I also saw glitter, by the way, this is very interesting. I think that came from material I owned. I used to have a makeup box that was silver colored. I noticed how gradually began fading and the pieces of glitter started to appear everywhere, same thing happened with other materials, such as ink. I had things marked with black markers and it suddenly began fading in some areas and appearing in others. So I'm afraid you do have Morgellons. This sounds like Morgellons to me. (Not an expert opinion, though :-) ) All the best, Jess On 4/27/2012 9:41 PM, birdluvr4evr wrote: "One trap had shiny particles (glitter?) and some fabric fibers. I decided if the bugs are tormenting me at 2 or 3 am I'll go to the emergency room. It will be $50 a shot vs $0 for my primary. Guest guest
Sometimes I think I had an uneasy accord with the mites. If I did not viciously attack them, they would do the same. I would remove or get rid of their hiding places, I would be swarmed for a couple of days. If I tried to put something on my body to deter them, as soon as it wore off, they attacked relentlessly. Someone told me once that because they are spiders, they will act with vengeance. So I always dealt with everything with as little intimidation tactics as possible. Sounds crazy right? But sometimes it seemed to work. Unfortunately, not always. But just because you could not show them an example, does not mean you have nothing. You are obviously being grievously harassed. My traps often showed fluorescent strings. I wonder if it was the dish soap. I just don't know. Today while examining a speck I found on my body, I determined it was dirt or something, but I remember it looked kind of weird. Well, I looked at a picture of a mite in color and it was exactly like what I had found. Wish I had kept the sample. Although I have no doubt that something is biting me, even here at the hotel, I also do not know if it is one, two or three things involved. Maybe mites, fungus, bacteria all working together. But it is something. Don't give up on yourself or doubt yourself. I am so sorry to hear about your insurance issues. I have many of those same problems. Guest guest
Wow Terry, I can so relate to this. I also got attacked by the mites in response to MY initial attacks. They didn't attack me first, I found them in a piece of furniture and I thought they were just 2 or 3, so I decided to wipe them all out. After that, out of nowhere there were hundreds and all over me. I remember putting garlic in my scalp and that really pissed them off and didn't deter them, they just got angrier and angrier and I would spend literally HOURS fighting with them, they never gave up. Then when I would spray my floors with vinegar and other substances that killed them, I felt prickles all over me in response, I could literally FEEL their anger. Yes, they do act with vengeance. These things are horrendous. On 4/28/2012 2:58 AM, mitesbegone wrote: Sometimes I think I had an uneasy accord with the mites. If I did not viciously attack them, they would do the same. Guest guest
I think it is possible that you have Bart along with Lyme. Need to be looked at by a professional who treats Lyme. The co-infections can be identified as well. As to treatment and therapy, well that is another story. But I have faith that with good health, it will bring hope. Guest guest
What entomologist did you use in NYC? The ones I used didn't believe I could be infested by mites. I was able to sort of coexist withnmy mites for a couple of years before I stupidly bought my son in law's old computer and suddenly I was gettingbalot more bites and this time although I sprayed they attacked me back before they kind of left me alone. I still think they're cheyletiella mites from my daughter's cats but have never been able to Id. Also therevwas mold in my old apartment but when I moved with next to nothing I brought them with me anyway. I would like to use heat but I can't in this new building and I wouldn't use propane in an apartment anyway. Exterminators don't know how to heat for mites, the temp has to be around 170 much higher than for bedbugs and you may have to do it a number ofbtimes. > > > > > > " One trap had shiny particles (glitter?) and some fabric fibers. Guest guest
I actually went to an exterminating company close to where I lived. They offered a free bug identification by the entomologist Lou Sorkin (who works at the Museum of Natural History). He's been featured in the NY Times talking about bed bug infestations in NY. The exterminating company was Broadway Exterminating and I believe it was on Amsterdam and 98-99th st. But I wasn't happy with his ID, he said that my "mites" were "baby spiders" even though they were all about the same size, so they could not be babies. And I also doubt they were spiders, they didn't have any webs, they basically burrowed in the wood and they lived in groups of several dozens. They didn't exhibit normal spider behavior, but who knows. I will probably never know what they were. He ID'ed some of the Morgellons organisms as "unidentified organism" and also my fibers as "debris." Jess On 4/28/2012 10:06 AM, miteymaid wrote: What entomologist did you use in NYC? Guest guest
I also had heard of Lou Sorkin because of his interest in bedbugs and showed him some sticky tape but he didn't see anything. He didn't believe mites could cross over either although he said sometimes he would feel a prick and examine himself and see nothing. I had been hoping if he was so involved with bedbugs he'd do the same for this problem, but wasn't to be. I'm in Brooklyn but went up to Broadway Exterminating. Only the owner knew anything but he was too busy to be of much help, recommended miticides they carried but just spraying perimeters was a waste of time. That was several years ago. I bought my own pestides and hired my own exterminator but you can't put poison everywhere and often which is why 's use of Lysol might be the way to go although spraying any of these chemicals a lot is no fun. I would really like to know how many people in and around NYC are afflicted so maybe the city or someone would attack this like they're doing with the bedbugs, there's a financial incentive there. > > > > > > > > " One trap had shiny particles (glitter?) and some fabric fibers. Guest guest
Something I just remembered. For months and maybe even more, sitting at my desk in my office, things would land on me and cause me to itch all over. Sometimes I would see them swing down on a web or silky thread. IF ONLY I HAD KNOWN THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW! I would grab a broom or a vacuum and clean the ceiling and air over my desk, get back to work and forget about it. I suspected they were baby spiders or spider mites, not knowing the signicicance. I have learned there is no such thing as an insignificant mite. Guest guest
I can not imagine that there is not a similar problem with mites in these areas. But, right now it seems like it is just flying under the " bed bug " radar. Maybe it is just too much to handle. > > > > > > > > > > " One trap had shiny particles (glitter?) and some fabric fibers. Guest guest
Interesting. About 2 years before I left Tennessee, we noticed 100's of little white spiders hanging down in the garage when we came home. I was very busy at the time, but did vacuum them a few months later. Then, 3 years later, I had them in the apartment I moved to and where I came down with this. Course, I did have the 5 bird's nests in my dryer outtake vent that infected my clothes. Wonder how they are related to this. Other posters mentioned them too. I did have the black specks all over that apartment but not in this one. Bet the fungus/mold that sets up attracts. Guest guest
Sharon-I had those glitter specks too.AaOn Apr 27, 2012, at 9:41 PM, birdluvr4evr <no_reply > wrote: "One trap had shiny particles (glitter?) and some fabric fibers. The other trap had 2 masses of fabric fibers, along with lots of scattered individual fibers. Neither trap had any insects, mites or parasites." I guess I'm imagining the crawling all over my body. And the feathery feelings as if things are coming out of my pores. And when my scalp is alive with crawling things and I put Lice Shampoo on they go absolutely wild, so much so I can hardly wait the 10 minutes or so till they die. How in heaven's name could I imagine it? My primary care physician referred me to an allergist and the referral came today. Effective 5/1 I will have a new primary care doc. I hope he will be better than she was. Because of changing docs I'll need to get a new referral from the new doc and I can't get in to see him till 5/23. So much red tape! I decided if the bugs are tormenting me at 2 or 3 am I'll go to the emergency room. It will be $50 a shot vs $0 for my primary. But when you're being tormented money is no object and time is of the essence. I'll tell you what!! I will never use Permethrin Cream again. It was good the 14 hrs I had it on but OHMYGOSH!! The next 2 days they attacked me with a vengance. Sharon

Guest guest
I had glitter specks too! I didn't know so many people had them.I don't know the reason for them, but I can give you my theory: I personally believe these fungi picked up debris. I had a silver colored makeup box. After a while, the box started to lose gradually its silver paint and then at about the same time I began finding silver (glitter) particles everywhere, so I made the connection. Check your stuff, do you have anything with silver paint that has faded away? This is just my hypothesis, not sure if it's the actual explanation, but it makes sense to me considering I saw the same behavior with other materials (such as ink.)Jess On Mon, Apr 30, 2012 at 8:53 PM, birdluvr4evr <no_reply > wrote: Â Aa: What in the world could cause that? Guest guest
Hi , I do remember Rose saying she was around 90% better, not sure if it ever got to 100%. I didn't follow Zoe too closely... not sure. But I remember a report on CNN where they said that the few doctors who treated Morgs had tried anti-parasiticals, antifungals and antibiotics, and that they only had (some) success with antibiotics, only in some people, and on those in whom it worked, it was temporarily. That's the impression I got from people on this newsgroup as well. Jess On 4/30/2012 9:58 PM, Goldstein@... wrote:  What about Zoe and Rose?  I think 99-100% for those two.
